Teacher of English
Sir John Nelthorpe School is a successful and popular 11-19 mixed comprehensive school with a rapidly growing roll (currently 731 students). It has a caring ethos and a long tradition of high academic attainment.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, talented and well-qualified English teacher to join a successful and supportive English and Performing Arts faculty and contribute to the development of English across Key Stages 3&4 full-time from September 2020. Experience of teaching Key Stage 5 whilst desirable is not essential. Candidates should have the right attributes to make a valid contribution to the wider school community and ensure that our pupils make excellent progress.
Drama is delivered from within the English curriculum by the whole faculty. Therefore, experience of teaching Drama, whilst desirable, is not essential, but it is expected that the successful candidate has the desire and ability to do so. The successful candidate will also have the desire and ability to work with the Head of English and Performing Arts Faculty to strengthen the links between the Drama and English curriculums in order to support pupil progress in both subject areas.
If you have the range of skills and experience required for this post we look forward to receiving your application by post or by email to email@example.com by 9:00am on Monday 23 March 2020
Sir John Nelthorpe School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and supportive references.
