At Sir John Nelthorpe School we aim to stimulate the curiosity and imagination of our pupils by providing a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum. The activities and tasks set for pupils are matched to their abilities so that they can achieve their full potential and become valued citizens in this rapidly changing world.

The teaching and learning environment is welcoming and has at its heart a partnership between staff, pupils and parents, which aims to support effective learning, good order, discipline and mutual respect.

In our most recent full inspection report (May 2018), Ofsted said:

"Around the school, and in the vast majority of lessons, pupils are courteous, polite and respectful of others...... There is a strong culture of safeguarding in the school. Leaders and managers place a high priority on keeping learners safe..... Pupils are confident that they feel safe and that their concerns will be dealt with; parents and staff agree...... ".

We are very proud of the achievements of this school, but we are not complacent. We continue to strive to be the very best we can be. The pupils and students at Sir John Nelthorpe School deserve no less.

This is a school with success at its heart. Our motto is "Fortis et Fidelis", and we endeavour to uphold these values in everything we do, every single day.
