Restart A Heart Day 2016

On Tuesday 18 October 2016, to mark European Restart a Heart Day, the Fire Brigade attended Sir John Nelthorpe School to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training to all of our Year 8 students.

It has been proven that if someone suffers a cardiac arrest, their chances of survival double if it happens in front of a bystander who immediately starts CPR before the emergency services attend the scene and this is a life skill we believe to be essential for our students.

As you can see both the students and trainers had a great time learning this truly valuable life saving skill.
