Sir John Nelthorpe School

World War I Memorial Mural

Pupils will be aware that there is a lot going on in the school to commemorate the outbreak of World War 1 in 1914. The Art Department has been involved in a project to design a collage based mural which celebrates and remembers the old boys of the school and people from the local area who lived through the war.

Year 9, 10 and 12 students have all been very busy since February half term working on collaborative designs to submit to Mr Waite and the school governors. The students have shown real creativity and have impressed staff in the Art Department with their teamwork and enthusiasm for the project.

The designs are now finished and will be on display in the crush hall at Wrawby Road site. Please let Ms Gillies or Mr Waite know what you think of the designs and we will pass your feedback on to the judges.

Well done to all who have contributed.
