Sir John Nelthorpe School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive Humanities faculty from September 2025. This is a part-time, permanent position (0.8 FTE) with the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 if desired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons to pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4, following the curriculum and promoting a love for history.

• Have the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 History, should you wish, in a supportive and high-achieving environment.

• Support the academic and personal development of pupils through effective planning, assessment, and feedback.

• Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities to share best practices and enhance the curriculum.

• Participate in extracurricular activities that support the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be a qualified History Teacher with a passion for the subject and a commitment to inspiring students.

• Have experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4, with the ability to teach at KS5 an advantage but not essential.

• Be an enthusiastic team player with a desire to contribute to the school’s ongoing success and development.

• Have strong communication and organizational skills.

• Be committed to providing the best possible educational experience for all pupils.
