Technology Technician – Art & Technology Faculty

Grade 4 SCP 5–9 £25,583 – £27,254 (£11,660 - £12,421, pro-rata)

Sir John Nelthorpe School is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Technology Technician to join our supportive and creative Art & Technology Faculty. This is a part-time role, working 20 hours per week, ideally spread across the week, and is particularly well-suited to a retired technology teacher or an individual with similar experience and practical skills in a workshop or educational setting.
You will play a key role in supporting the faculty by:
Preparing lesson materials, resources, and equipment for practical lessons in Textiles, 3D Design, CDT, Art, and Food Technology across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
Stock control and other administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the faculty
To assist in the maintenance of wall displays
To maintain storage areas in a tidy state
To assist in the production of specialised tools and jigs as necessary
Assisting teachers with classroom setup and demonstrations where required.
Maintaining and organising tools, machinery, and workspaces in line with health and safety standards.
Undertaking routine maintenance of workshop equipment and ensuring resources are well-stocked and ready for use.
Has a strong practical background, ideally in a technology-based subject or workshop environment.
Understands the importance of supporting high-quality practical teaching and learning.
Can work both independently and as part of a team.
Has a proactive, organised, and safety-conscious approach to their work.
Brings enthusiasm and a positive attitude to school life.
